antirotting week

woohoo. Had commmittee retreat in oasis earlier the week. Then, went to malacca for a trip with a few of the cf fellars for a night's stay. It was more of makan sessions and plenty of walking around the town. We stayed at the Baba House a lane from Jonker Street. It was budget hotel but the place was totally great. The rooms had a king size bed which accomodated 3 of us in each room.

I usually eat pretty much same food everytime I come to malacca. This time, I tried in a satay celup restaurant reconmended by Swee Vien's couzzie called "Ban Lee Siang". Not bad. The shop occupied 2 shoplots and so it was quite big and not cramped. We didn't have to queue up to wait to get a place. More to that, the shop was quite clean too. As in the taste of the sauce to celup, pretty much the same as the other outlets, but the only thing was the choices of dishes that were more limited I think compared to Capitol. Anyhow, haha I managed to resist from eating excessively there. Only took 10 sticks. opps. haha.

sigh. The 2 things I missed in Malacca this time was the satay stall which Swee Vien reconmended and Jonker Street market at night. We couldn't eat in the satay stall coz we were rushing for time to catch the bus back to kl. They serve pork satay. So AWESOMENESS yea. I've gotta try it sometime I come back to malacca again. Btw I didn't know that Jonker Street market only opens on weekends at night, if not would have organized the trip during the weekend or so.

The next day after the trip, I went to the Mel and Sheryl's place to sleepover and also kacau kacau em since they're finally free from stpm examination. As promised, that night they took me to eat chow tau foo ( fermented beancurd) in OUG since I haven't eaten before. gosh. The moment I held on to the tau foo, I sniffed it and overly surprised, I couldn't smell that awful thing at all. Not sure why, but the last time the smell was so strong that even I could smell it from a far. As I savoured the chow tau foo, the aroma was overwelming. It tasted somehow like juicy chicken gizzard and liver taste covered with crispy textured taufoo. Totally not my type. My breath smelt like chow tau foo the whole night untill I brushed my teeth.

I was supposed to spend only a night at their place. Plans change somehow coz we had to shop for Christmas party n deco for YA's new room the morning after n so I stayed on for another night. We took a train down to Pasar Seni n walked around that area to look for the items but unfortunately we couldn't get anything useful. One thing that amazed me was that area, most of the shops were selling lotsa Christmas deco stuff and Christmas carols were played in the shops. I'm so into the Christmas mood right now. Christmas gives such nice feelings. Gifts exchange, the Christmas play, snowman, singing carollers. It also reminds me of God being so graceful that He sent His begotten son into this filthy world to take the atonement of our sins. You'll never have this kinda thoughts when you're in maluri a pasar malam or around the shops in kepong. Right now, there are already Chinese New Year songs being played on their radios. sigh. The celebration of festivals seem so mixed up.
